DU Banquets

OK I think that a few of us are now hooked on DU Banquets. Austin Jackson, Brandon Sharp and I went to the Metrocrest banquet a few weeks ago and split a $100 raffle pack. We split the tickets evenly and crossed our fingers. Austin was the lucky one winning a 12 Ga shotgun and a deer feeder. That is a nice return on a $33 investment. Then last week Chris & April Jackson, Austin & Kelly Jackson, Grant Glover and I went to the Allen DU banquet. the 4 of us guys decided to split a $100 raffle pack and see what happened. Well we did not win anything this time but without our knowing Chris got a few special raffle tickets for a Browning Silver Hunter. HE WON. Thats right he dropped a few dollars and and won a $1200++ Shot Gun. That's 2 guns in 2 banquets. Good job guys. We are hoping to have a good turnout for our banquet that is just around the corner- September 17th. Lets just say we are geared up for a good turnout. We have acquired a ton of merchandise that will be up for grabs. I think we are up to 8 guns, all kinds of accessories, gift certificates, and much more. Did I mention "free beer" (be responsible)? Hope to see you all there. PS if you have not gotten your tickets, please get with Brandon Sharp or I ASAP. We need to have a rough idea of a head count so we can plan accordingly.

Wetland Conservation Efforts

This short clip explains DU's efforts in rebuilding destroyed wetlands & saving existing duck breeding grounds. The Ray Robert's Chapter of DU has set a lofty goal in our attempts to raise money to support our cause. We are passionate about this cause and believe that we can achieve our goal. We are aiming to raise $15,000. This means 150 people attending the banquet, each contributing, spending or bidding around $100 dollars. You can help! We hope to build a local community in the Ray Roberts area of hunters, outdoorsmen, families & neighbors through this new chapter of DU. Contact us for ticket information, how to donate, volunteer your time & resources or just be a part of this great event.

Ducks Unlimited Ray Roberts Chapter

The Ray Roberts Chapter of Ducks Unlimited will kick off it's inception with an Inaugural DU Fund raising Banquet, Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 6:00pm. The locale will be Paul Redfern's gym on 377 with food catered by Rudy's. Raffles, auction items & free beer are just a few of the highlights for this night of fund raising & outdoor lover's camaraderie.

Progress on behindthesight.com

The guys have all been working diligently through 2 new baby boys joining the crowd, a sweet new boat, a house on the market & the launching of the Ray Roberts Chapter of DU (more on that later). Behind the Sight is under construction as we speak, with final touches being made. After much anticipation the sight will launch in the next week. Great content, eye-catching design & real-life photography are a few of the aesthetic highlights of the sight. The content makes this web sight original, with stories, articles from professionals & experts, DIY articles from the field and points of interest for all hunters. The sight is applicable & attention grabbing-we look forward to hearing your feedback. Spread the word. Behind the Sight will be up & running soon!

I will leave you with a few duck shots. These were taken at the Gaylord, Grapevine, TX, April of 07.
